WoW Guide: Boss Strategy - Maiden of Virtue - Karazhan

Maiden of Virtue is a tough boss with both Paladin and Priest abilities. She can deal lots of damage to everyone around her so your raid’s healing and dispelling has to be very responsive.

HP – 424900
Damage – 6156-896

1- Abilities:

Holy Fire: Every 10 seconds, she hits a random player not in melee range with Holy fire. This hits does approx. 3,000 damage and the Dot debuff ticks for about 1,700 every 2 seconds. The Dot part can be dispelled

Make sure everyone is within dispel range at all times. Don’t let anyone get down to less than 3,000 life as they could be killed when hit.

Holy Ground: Throughout the fight the ground around maiden is consecrated with holy ground. It does about 300 damage per tick and interrupts non-instant spell casts. It also breaks her Repentance ability. Anyone who can stay out of the holy ground should do so. The area of effect is limited so easy to avoid. Melee classes will have to take the hits and need to be healed up.

Holy Wrath: Every 20 seconds one play will be hit by Holy Wrath. Initial Hits does about 2,000 damage and chains to other players within 10 yards of the target, Increasing the damage dealt of about 1,000 per chain.

While you can’t avoid the initial hit, you should stay enough apart from each other so that the cast doesn’t chain. Melee classes need to do their best to spread out.

Repentance: Every 12-15 seconds, everyone but the current target is affected by Repentance. It does about 1,700 damage when it hits and incapacitates the player for 10 seconds. If you take any damage while afflicted, Repentance is broken.

2- Preparation:

Positioning is the main thing to think about. Staying spread out to avoid Holy Wrath chaining is the key part of the fight.
To give you an idea, if non melee classes position themselves between the pillars, it is plenty of space between them.

3- Strategy

Start the fight by having the tank run in. She is tanked in the middle of the room and does not move. All of the ranged classes should head to their proper position between the pillars around Maiden. Melee DPS heads in and stay spread out around her as best as they can.

Once the main tank has built the agro, start DPS, Staying in your position. Holy ground is active throughout most of the fight. Ranged classes can easily stay out of it but make sure the melee classes are properly healed.

Holy fire is probably the most damaging of her abilities. The initial damage is hard, but the DoT debuff is brutal.  Dispel it as quickly as possible and heal the damage done. Make sure nobody stays too low on life, they could get instantly killed by holy fire.

Holy wrath shouldn’t be too big of a deal as long as you stay spread out and it only hits one person at a time. Heal through it.

After about 20 seconds into the fight, the first Repentance hits everyone but Maiden’s current target. Worst case scenario, all the healers get incapacitated for the full 10 seconds… at least one healer should have the ability to break the repentance.

Easiest way is to have a paladin using Blessing of Sacrifice on the tank before Repentance hits. When they damage for the blessing, the incapacitation is removed. The other option is to have one healer stand in the holly ground. The damage taken from the holy ground breaks the repentance. Point is, one healer should be able to heal the tank while everybody else is incapacitated.

Heal up damages from Maiden while keeping the tank alive. With a bit of practice and good healing, she’ll be down quickly.
